The Student Room Group

end of year 13 and hate my bitchy friends

ive got around 3 months left of school until study leave and i hang around with a group of around six people, most of them are really getting me down and they dont 'let me' stay at home on weekends or see other friends because they have a huge go at me if i cant go out, its almost as if they own me. they force me to pay a ridiculous amount for joint birthday presents, more than them, which i have no say in and make me pay for meals for them. They were forcing me to go on a girls holiday, however i managed to pull out of this, not by simply saying i didnt want to go but by making up some over exaggerated bull**** story about my dad going bankrupt and that i cant afford it, which they also caused an argument about, not surprisingly. They're simply spoilt little brats and are not nice people. I know i just have a short three months left stuck with them now so i am going to have to put up with them and there is no point moving groups at this late stage, however i was just wondering if anyone else was in this situation or how i can possibly deal with them?

You could just tell them to F off and not talk to them ever again.

Are you afraid of not having any friends? If you're not, the friendship can be terminated now

pretty much, dont want to become a weirdo with no friends or forced to hang round with even worse people

I would say make use of the spoilt bitches. Pull Mean girl pranks. Mix it up a bit. Should be interesting

I was in a similar situation to you when I was younger. I was originally going to put up to it until I'd finished the course I was on with them and then cut all contact, however I ended up leaving the course early (due to other factors) so I was able to do it earlier. If I was in that situation again I'd just stop hanging around with them. However as you don't want to do this then I suggest avoiding being with them as much as possible (e.g. make up excuses not to socialise with them outside of school).

I'd just stop hanging around with them tbh. I'd rather have no friends than spend time with a group of ***** like that.

Seriously: Tell them how they are and how you feel and just concentrate fully on your A2 exams, it's only for three more months, if they're your only friends do something productive in the summer, if you have friends outside school hang with them in the summer, then you'll have uni and make new friends and never see them again! Seriously use this time to ust fully smash your A2 exams, you'll have zero distractions now!
Dont know why you put up with this in the first place tbf
