Just to add onto that, you can drop 10 marks in COMP1 and 3 marks in COMP2 and still get 100% UMS.

COMP1
100% = 90/100
90% = 80
A = 70
B = 60
C = 50
D = 41
E = 32

COMP2
100% = 57/60
90% = 50
A = 43
B = 36
C = 30
D = 24
E = 18

That doesn't make sense to me - I always thought 100% was all of it.

UMS doesn't always work like that, especially when lots of people struggle with the exam. If you plot the marks to UMS for each grade on a graph it is roughly a straight line, so when boundaries are low you don't need 100% marks for 100% UMS.

Might not work on mobile though.

Congrats both of you :smile:

160 is only just an A I think, you got lucky!

I got 187 overall, so I'm hoping I should get at least an A overall next year (as long as A2 isn't impossible).

A2 is definitley possible, but to get a decent grade in COMP4, you should probably have a firm idea of what you're going to be doing for your project, and probably made a start on coding it by now. Just a heads up, otherwise it becomes a massive slog by next march/april!!

When you complete the paper it is marked out of 100. This is then converted to a UMS score (which appears on your results slip) which is out of 120.

Yeah, it's 5 marks off (or 6 marks off a B - you didn't say your grade). See here:

Personally I doubt you'd pick up 5 marks from a remark, but ask a teacher as they'll have more experience with it. You can always try!
