How to get full marks on these kind of questions

Ok so,

This question is worth 4 marks, and it has a star next to it. With a question like this what does that mean? It says show all your working and write your answer clearly... I have got the right answer (I think), but I'm just trying to maximize the amount of marks I get in the exam.

I usually drop marks on the starred questions for not showing enough working . I hate workings out I can do stuff much quicker in my head - I don't see the point in starred questions.
You either want to write (2x + 3 - x - 4) or (2x + 3 - (x+4)) in your line for B. Otherwise looks good.
