Questions about Essex and Colchester

I'm an EU student and I'm due to start my course in September. Essex is one of my choices and the course I've applied to is BA Elections, Public Opinion and Parties. I'm posting this here to get to know more about the university in general, something about the course and, if possible, a little about the city and the vibe of the area in general. So, if you can help me in this regard in any way, please do.

- What is the University like? Buildings? Equipment? Faculty?

- How is the aforementioned course like? What are the lectures and lecturers like? Are books expensive?

- How's Colchester as a city and how's the nightlife? Are there a lot of internationals and foreigners?

- I'm opted to stay in a private, university-approved accommodation. How is it like? How far are they from the main buildings? How many people do they usually hold?

- I'm planning to pay for my monthly expenses by working part time. What are the wages in the area? What kind of jobs are usually offered? How hard is it to find one? Are there a lot of jobs on campus and nearby?
