HELP what happens when you heat magnesium carbonate?

Is it soluble in water? Does it remain in the solution? Is that how we can form crystals because is remains in the solution? How if it is soluble in water?

All the carbonates in this Group undergo thermal decomposition to give the metal oxide and carbon dioxide gas. Thermal decomposition is the term given to splitting up a compound by heating it.

So is it insoluble in water? therefor it does undergo thermal decomposition thus why we can make crystals out of it?
