University College Utrecht
Discussion for those studying or looking to study in the Netherlands.

Re: University College Utrecht
Unfortunately I am out of the country and have little time to write a detailed story for now. But for people regarding the academic parts of the interview - I had around 20 minutes discussing academic subjects, mostly Politics and Philosophy. He did not really ask if I had read something in particular, but academic subjects transpired in current events (We discussed the role of the EU a lot, for example). They also ask some "strange" questions such as: tell me of a circumstance when your self-confidence was questioned; an occasion when you helped a friend who was in danger.
Make sure you prepare a question or two for the tutor! -
Re: University College Utrecht
I don't think I've been accepted :-( still no decision....which I guess means it'll be a swift rejection soon or being put in the next cycle. But I can't just decline my offers in England in the hope that they'll accept me in May. Oh well.
Good luck to those have interviews around now :-D and how did they go, etc -
Re: University College UtrechtHey, sorry for the late reply. I am on the gap year at the moment so have already completed my A-levels. However, I think it is just that you need to pass once you have recieved an offer.(Original post by babelGan)
Thank you! See you there! (if I pass my finals and get a B in CAE haha) oh that reminds me; did they mention anything about some conditions to you? The email I got just said Id been accepted, nothing regarding conditions, but as I said, I havent even finished high school.. -
Re: University College Utrechtmy request for financial aid has been denied(Original post by zerlendi)
I think the admission process is almost over at UCU. Is anyone applying for scholarships? Any results yet? -
Re: University College UtrechtOdd, I have never heard of anyone being denied financial aid, except if their financial situation permits them to study at UCU, then there would be no need for aid. Usually students who requested aid in their application form receive something, even if not sufficient.(Original post by musicager)
my request for financial aid has been denied
I have received my scholarship notification yesterday, I will get financial aid, although it obviously won't cover everything. -
Re: University College Utrecht
Do you know if most of the notifications have been sent out? I still haven't received mine and it is making me rather nervous. I emailed the admissions office and they said they were making final decisions and would notify me no later than early this week. Is anyone else still waiting

Re: University College UtrechtAs far as I know, they're working very hard to send out the last batch this week.(Original post by Annelies)

Re: University College Utrecht
Heya~
As absent-minded person as I am, I have a question for someone who's already studying at UCU. When I was filling my desired courses form, I forgot to write down one basically essential course from Academic Core Dep - Academic Skills and Practice. Could someone tell me, if I should start alarming UCU admission centre or it will be possible to correct my list of choice when I arrive on the introductory week (somewhere it was mentioned that we will have to discuss our choice of courses with assigned professor)?
Thanks in advance
P.S. I am asking here first because I have already bombed UCU admission centre with e-mails about other stuff that I almost feel bad about it

Re: University College UtrechtHey, that's no prob; everyone will be put into ASAP in their first semester, so listing four courses is actually better (making it easier for them, as then they can try to put you in 3 out of 4 instead of 3 out of 3, so there's less of a chance you'll be put into a course you don't want if you don't get into your preferred ones).(Original post by Sida)

So if you had to answer academic questions did they test your knowledge in the subjects you applied for?
