Hi, I don't know if there is any other thread about this but I thought I would make it so AS Biology students can ask questions leading up to the exam, and/or discuss how they are feeling about the exam and what they predict will be on it!
F211 (Unit 1 - Cells/Exchange and Transport) - Thursday 21st May (PM) F212 (Unit 2 - Biological Molecules/Food and Health/ Biodiversity and Evolution) - Monday 1st June (PM)

I made a predicted paper for F211 based on what I think could come up. I'll post it on here tomorrow.
What topics are your favourite? Have you still got content left?
Oh that would be great! And my favourite topics would probably be biological moleculed or the transport involving the heart in mammals. I find it really interesting, however I get really confused on how sugars get into the phloem tube. I need to revise that more!
This would be great. Do you know any sources to revise from? So far I've been using the text book, revision booklets, my own notes and Khan Academy. I would love some more.

Thanks!
I used ASBiology blog for the whole of Unit 1 as my teacher is just terrible!
Thanks. I have two teachers. My main one, who I get three lessons a week with is terrible. It's so hard to learn anything from him. My other teacher who I get only one a week is brilliant and I remember everything. And thanks for the recommendation.

1. Hydrogen ions are actively loaded out of the companion cells, using ATP. 2. This creates a concentration gradient, as there are now more hydrogen ions on the outside of the cell than inside. 3. As a result, the hydrogen ions now diffuse back into the companion cells, down their concentration gradient. However, this facilitated diffusion happens through the use of specialised co-transporter proteins. For the H+ ions to diffuse back in, a sucrose molecule must also attach to the protein. Hence, this means that the H+ ions diffuse back into the companion cells, bringing sucrose molecules into the companion cells with them. 4. The sucrose molecules are then actively loaded into the sieve tubes through the plasmodesmata.
Does that help?
I love all of biology, especially the study of the immune system - it's really fascinating.

Youre welcome. I also have two teachers, my main one however is the better of the two. One i have for 2 lessons a week is quite terrible, she doesnt know how to project information.
Here is the paper I have made. There are plenty of other questions that I think could appear on our paper, but this is the only one I've actually put together.
If I have time, I might put some more together, but hopefully, this should be good practice for now.
EDIT: I have posted the mark scheme on Page 5
EDIT: I have added a mock paper for F212 to page 182 in addition to the mark scheme.

Note: if you spot any silly errors, like typos, do let me know
Not at the moment, but I plan to do the paper. When I do it, I'll scan my answers, which you could use, I guess. Until then, if you want answers to a particular question, just let me know.
