Could you two stick to the topic please. If you wish to discuss another issue then please make a separate thread.

Yes though Iran is just brought up because NATO claims the missile defence system is aimed at Iran, in the original link

"the Western alliance says is designed to protect members from missile launches from countries like Iran."

And so then the topic goes on to why do they claim it's against Iran.. then the Iran-Iraq war as part of that..
The only country in Europe that could give Russia a hard war is Germany apart from that Russia would pretty much destroy the others.

UK doesn't even remotely stand a chance in a war against Russia.

Why on earth would any NATO allied EU nation go to war with Russia on their own?

The whole point of NATO is the deterrence that an attack by Russia against any NATO member will bring the whole of NATO into direct conflict with Russia.

In a conventional war, Russia would be annihilated, but for a while could put up a good defence.

The final end game Russia would be left with is the use of nuclear weapons in desperation and the whole world pays the price.

No common sense whatsoever.

Unfortunately, nuclear keeps the peace at the price of proxy wars between conventionally armed states outside of NATO.

By any chance, are you a blind German patriot if you believe that in a 1 on 1 Germany would beat Russia?

[h="2"]omfg, stop this bull**** propoganda.... such a nonsence... and people in liberal gayropa believe to it...[/h]
Putin is cold, calculated and knows fully well what he's doing. He wants to cement his legacy amongst the other Russians before him and he'll do what is required to achieve that, regardless of the detrimental effects that it may have on the Russian people. All the sanctions so far are just being used within Russia as propaganda against the EU and are doing Putin's job for him in whipping up nationalist hysteria. Putin will do as much as he can get away with before other countries stop posturing and actually step in. Lithuania will be next, due to it being surrounded by Kaliningrad and Belarus, and I don't believe anyone will intervene other than to aid the Lithuanian military. It'll bring the entire credibility of NATO into question. I for one don't believe the USA, UK, France, Germany or other NATO countries will risk escalating affairs into an all out war over a country like Lithuania.

Not so much a threat as a simple point of fact. A bit more nuanced than "haha crazy Russia threatening Legoland with nukes for no good reason!"

If any country joins an alliance directly intended to contain and threatens Russia militarily Russia is within it's rights to regard that country as a co-belligerent.

MAD means mutually assured destruction, the lynchpin of Russian/US military relations. If one side attempts to destroy the other, than the opposing side can ensure a like-for-like devastation.
A missile shield system is a direct threat to that balance and thus any part of said shield line becomes a 'legitimate' target regarding Russian nuclear response.

America has enough nukes to burn the world several times over, and aims them at a LOT of people, yet no-one is saying that it is "so ridiculous".

hating on Russia is your own prerogative but maintain reason and rationality.
This goes for everyone else here, personal feelings are fine, lack of perspective isn't.

Lol. That's a threat? I don't think so.
