My experience of the selection process has very much been ticking boxes in terms of qualifications. If they say you need x qualification grade A-C they really don't care if it's a C or an A, because they're testing so many different qualities than simply academic performance.

They might ask why you did a certain degree, but no more than that. I knew an RAF pilot with a degree in Portuguese, another with architecture
