I'm from the Caribbean, AMA

I kinda just wanted to do an AMA thread. I was born and raised in the Caribbean and I realized that there's a pretty prevalent Jamaican influence in British modern culture, particularly in colloquial diction in London.

So, go ahead.

I'm Caymanian but my grandmother is the most Jamaican person ever. I've been there more times than I can count.

She cooks a lot of Jamaican food: ackee and saltfish, frittas, plantain, Caribbean punch etc.
She's a very traditional Presbyterian Christian.
When we used to go to Jam for Xmas we would order a goat, have it killed in the backyard and then she would cook it as a part of Xmas dinner.
Pretty normal Jamaican "traditions."
