Aerospace Engineering mandatory flight training? £3,350??????

So I just got this in my email

http://i.imgur.com/EYehV1g.png

and I'm a little confused, is the £3,350 flight training mandatory for me or not. I'm doingthe H425 course, which doesn't have a 'tick' under pilot studies but then down below it says
"* This represents the 20 hour mandatory Pilot Training to be undertaken in Year 1 only and is payable in advance, at the start of Semester 1"

This is my course
https://www.liv.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/aerospace-engineering-beng-hons/module-details/

Under modules it also says "PILOT STUDIES FLIGHT TRAINING AND STUDY PACK approx £3400 (subject to change due to fuel prices)"

I don't have £3400 to drop on some Pilot Studies training, we're already paying 9k£ per year which is laughable, even though I would like to do it I can't afford it and if it is indeed mandatory then what do I do? Does that mean I can't study Aerospace Engineering at Liverpool, because there is no way me or my parents have the money for that

Its right there in the module details so you must have known about it already. Alot of courses require you purchase extra things that the university can't provide and by telling you in advance there is really nothing wrong about it

Hi there,

I'm sorry for the confusion here. Have you spoken with the department yet? If not, I can get in touch with them to get clarification on this as soon as possible.

Hello, sorry for the late replay but I've contacted the university and they stated the 3k+ fee is only if you are doing Aerospace Engineering with Pilot studies. Thanks for trying to help.
