Head Girl Application Speech?

Anyone have anything really good to say for a Head Girl application speech? Was trying to think of something that isn't the usual 'I work well on a team, I am confident, I have good grades' etc. It's a speech in front of all the teachers at my school.
Any ideas on good ways to start or maybe something funny? My mum is a teacher at my school so will be there too, maybe I could make a joke?

Any suggestions very much appreciated!
