What should we do about British Muslims travelling to join ISIS?

There are a number of options:

- Allow them to go and ban them from reentering the UK (for life or a set period).
- Allow them reentry to the UK, but prosecute them upon arrival.
- Allow them reentry, but do not prosecute them and instead offer them rehabilitation (some Scandinavian countries do this).
- Do nothing.

What do you think we should do about British Muslims travelling to join ISIS?

erm vote UKIP.......................

Honestly though i think they should be stopped entry upon return to the UK. ISIS are one of the worst terrorist groups we have seen.
Obviously stop them from coming back but they do still come back and don't get caught.
We should let them join ISIS. I would rather have terrorists over in the Islamic state than on our streets. Then we along with the coalition of forces, can bomb them to hell.

Why anyone would want pure evil and scum on our streets is beyond me.
Execute their families. Fight fire with fire. CB.

The British government should work much more closely with Muslim community leaders in ensuring that a peaceful teaching of Islam is given much greater publicity and dominance. This will help to prevent people becoming radicalised in the first place.

In terms of those that have gone, they are liable to being killed by Western forces and their allies. Those that attempt to return to the UK should be arrested upon arrival and prosecuted.

Muslim leaders in Mosque's should be doing their part to stop radicalization from taking place. There's only a certain amount that the government can do to stop them from going to fight for ISIS. Rehabilitation wouldn't need to be an option if there was more done to stop people from becoming radicalized in the first place. And mosque's that are infamous for having hate preachers should be closed down.
Execute them

hang them for treason

Or at the very least place throw them in jail

Everyone seems to forget about treason. Those hate preachers (The ones that radicalize people in the first place) seem to get away without even a jail sentence.

This country is becoming messed up.
British Muslims..

Just so you know lot of generic people in all most every part of the globe had petty criminal record before they "converted" to be a "muslim" to wage "jihad" on the "west".

I'm very much in favor of giving a free one way ticket to Syria to whoever wants to go. Why this notion is not popular is beyond me. In case they go they need to arrested upon re-entry for supporting and taking part of a death cult.

This can all be much more efficient if Turkey tighten it's border with Syria.

People should only be prosecuted for breaking the law, and you can't shut down a mosque because of the actions of a small number of individuals, even if they have broken the law. Would it have made any sense to shut down Roman Catholic churches and cathedrals in response to paedophile priests operating in them? Acting outside the law would be a case of cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Not only would acting with barbarism defeat the object of defending our civilised values from these people, but it would also martyr the individuals concerned and alienate and radicalise even more Muslims.

Bar them from re-entry to the UK. No justification for letting them back in.

Unfortunately our governments and police forces seem desperate to bring these people back, which makes no sense whatsoever especially when you consider that we've spent seven figure sums on trying to deport hate preachers (let alone actual jihadists) for the past few years.

Doing nothing is irresponsible and immoral.

Not prosecuting them upon arrival is to turn a blind eye to the danger they present to British Citizens.

Prosecuting them on arrival is a token gesture because how will anyone know for sure what crimes they have committed while there? How can one rightly assess the potential danger they still present to the UK?

Allowing them to go and banning them from re-entry is to allow people to join a criminal group perpetrating great evil upon the innocent. Allowing them to go is to contribute to the poisoning of humanity by helping their murderous terrorist group to grow and strengthen in numbers. Surely that is immoral and irresponsible.

It seems none of your options provide an effective solution.

If it's wrong to let them go and too dangerous to let them back in, then perhaps there is only one way - death for all the adults and put any children into care.

Don't prosecute them then for any crimes they may have committed while there. Prosecute them for high treason, since they are British citizens who have voluntarily adhered to a self-declared state that is at war with Britain. That carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

We need to declare war on ISIS

Anyone then joining them or seeking to support them can be done for Treason and handled by the Army rather than the UK prison system

WE also should give people the option to renounce their UK citizenship and it's up to them then what they do but we can wash our hands of them
Let them go, remove their citizenship and put them in the crosshairs of a hellfire missile.
How do you stop them coming back?

They are UK citizens. Shami Chakrabarti and every other assorted so-called 'human rights' activists who fight tooth and nail for terrorists' rights, will be taking the UK to court if they tried to prevent their return.

Not to mention the EU would weigh in and fine us.

The only way would be to scrap or alter the human rights act and of course withdraw from the EU which dictates much of our policies and laws.
