Science Revision Website - Science Skool

Hi all ( I have also posted this in the A-level Chemistry forum)

I thought I would just let you know that there is a new, totally free science revision website that I have created called www.scienceskool.co.uk

It is totally free of charge, no signing in or adverts, and has resources for A-level Chemistry as well as GCSE Sciences. I myself am a Science teacher with a specialism in Chemistry and have collated a lot of my own hand written resources, notes, questions etc. into a website for students to use. Please pass this on to anyone you think might find it of use - the only thing I gain from this is the satisfaction knowing the work I put in is being used!

If you have any questions - ideas - etc. please don't hesitate to post here - or even reply to one of the blog posts on the site.

Best of luck with the revision! Only a few weeks now to till the exams!

Yours

Hi all

Another term has started, and hopefully all of you AS chemists (And GCSE Science Students!) got excellent grades and have started A2, and the new batch of chemists are enjoying their first few lessons. Remember that Science Skool is here to help you! I have rearranged the Units into the new Physical, Organic and Inorganic exam sections, though I have left the A2 the same as you will all still be doing the old specifications.

Best of luck with your studies, and don't forget www.scienceskool.co.uk

Where do you get the finances for this project? If there are no ads or registration, how do you make it worth your while?

Hi JumpingFun

My motives are purely altruistic. I am a secondary school teacher (and sixth form) and have created lots of resources for my own students and felt that they would serve many more like this. I have put my own money into this project and will continue to do so.

I only advertise on sites like this as after putting in so much work, I wish it to be used as much as possible! If you know people who might find it useful, friends family etc. let them know.

I hope you enjoy the site.

Happy New Year to everyone (for tomorrow..). Just a quick update that as well as new content, there is now an iPhone app and windows phone app for the site, as well as the previously mentioned android app. Best of luck with your upcoming mocks (I imagine most of you have/are done/doing them) and if you need revision help, check out the website!

Please remember, feedback is very welcome!

Hi all

I have added a B2 practice paper to the additional science/biology section. This is not an actual exam paper, but a separate exam style paper. You will find the model answers with it as well to help you revise. I know the GCSE section of the site is a little sparse but I am working hard to add resources. Try the additional science/physics section where you will find some comprehensive notes on nuclear fission, fusion, star formation etc.

I hope you find them useful.

Hi all

I have added lots of resources to the site including turning three of my revision topics into fully fledged website pages. This is a work in progress as with all things as actually writing content and then turning it into html with formatting, images and sub/superscript is a mammoth task! The three pages I have made took me HOURS! Any-who if you are interested in this sort of stuff I have added a button to the front page which allows you to sign up for the newsletter. This will just be an email letting you know of new content on the site. Your email will of course not be shared, and you can opt out at any time.

The three new pages mentioned are:
http://www.scienceskool.co.uk/atomic-structure.html
http://www.scienceskool.co.uk/atomic-orbitals.html
http://www.scienceskool.co.uk/tof-mass-spec.html

I have also added model answers for some of the more recent AQA Chemistry exams. I have tried to make the site as multi exam board as possible but the model answers are AQA only (though they can still help!)

I would love any feedback and many thanks to those who have commented, or messaged me so far.

Thanks

Alex

Hi all

Its been a while since I posted an update on here. I have recently added quite a few topics to the website in the chemistry section. I have also converted alot of the pages from pdf to html files which makes them not only load quicker but look pretty good as well if I do say so myself.

Today I added a section for the Arrhenius Equation which is a new section for most Alevel specifications so should be of use to a lot of you. If you wish to leave any feedback or have any comments let me know.*

Thanks

Hi all

It's been ages since I posted in here, but thought I would bump the website up just in time for the upcoming A-level exams. Since I last posted I have added a HUGE amount of content, especially in the form of model answers for the AQA exam papers. The students I teach find these really useful and I hope you do too.

I welcome any and all feedback and I wish you all the best in your upcoming exams.

Thanks

Alex
