School demands 3 year old children sign agreement not to use "transphobic" language

Children as young as three are being asked to sign a contract pledging not to use transphobic language at school.
The pledge is contained in a β€˜home-school agreement’ which all children must sign before they start at Turnham Primary School in September.
The infants must also promise to refrain from using homophobic and racist phrases and to be tolerant of people with different sexual orientations and lifestyles. Each child must print their name and provide a signature to confirm that they understand their β€˜responsibilities’ while attending the school.

Same way here in the States. Both our Socialist governments use things like this to shame us and stifle our Freedom Of Speech. We are supposed to just accept everything. I am pretty open-minded but there has to be a limit to what we will accept.

I don't see why freedom of speech and general humanity/good manners/common courtesy can't go hand in hand.

Encouraging one shouldn't be infringing on the other unless you are susceptible to being a bigot and feel that your freedumz are being restricted because you can no longer discriminate against people based on something as immaterial as their skin colour.

The bolded bit of your post almost implies that we should be tolerant of racism/sexism, etc.

This.

Can you provide evidence that this story is real?

3 year olds cannot sign their names or read and don't understand phrases like 'physical challange', 'race' 'sexual orientation' etc.

This is more funny than anything, even if someone really came up with this idea, it couldn't possibly be implemented.

And things like racism and homophobia don't happen among three year olds. Infants aren't bigots! People become bigots at a later age!

Good, racists and bigots need to be shamed.
Completely stupid to have something like that in.
I don't really see what's wrong with that, it's better than promoting transphobia.

The fact that people have largely ignored the anti-racist/class/ability side to the agreement just illustrates the need to encourage acceptance of transgendered individuals amongst young people.
Probably a reminder to parent's more than anything..
The Daily Mail is hardly the most reliable source.

Yes by the daily mails reckoning I should be riddled with cancer and Diana was murdered by MI5This document wouldn't stand up legally anyway.. This is typing right wing pub talk.."And another thing..."
My phones spell autocorrect sucks balls
I don't see the issue. They are being taught not to be hateful towards them, much as they shouldn't due to race. Its not infringing freedom of speech or religion.
This is primary school.. good lord, what do these schools teach our children.

The point is, schools should not need to use such tactics to promote and teach inclusion, equality and social justice - which is a parental responsibility starting at home but evidently lacking in many cases.

Teach people not to be nasty is fair enough.. but i fear we are moving towards teaching them that being x is a good thing. Social justice as a term veers towards socialist mantra as well.

I'd also question whether one can be gay or trans in primary school, not to mention that for 90% of school children being fat is due to bad parenting.
Seriously, OP?

If real, it's a home-school agreement. It means the parents are being asked to support the school in telling their children that even if they hear someone else in the playground call another child any nasty words, they mustn't copy, because nasty words are nasty. The school has hit the ground running with any of their more ignorant parents, and made sure it's clear to the parents that "Yes, 'tranny' counts as a nasty word". Probably because last year a few five year olds had picked that one up from 8/9 year old siblings, and their parents kicked up a fuss when the teachers had a word about it at pick-up time.

The dramatic "as young as 3" means that the primary school has a nursery attached to it, meaning that when the journalist checked with the DoE, the school is recorded as having an intake aged between "3-11". There is no actual evidence, other than circumstantial, that the agreement is used in the nursery..

The contract was sent to parents last week along with the letters offering a place at the school. It reads: β€˜We believe that every child can and should reach their full potential. This is achieved when all staff, parents and children understand their responsibilities and work together towards the same goals, as detailed in our home-school agreement.’

Last week, eh? The week of the primary school place scramble... So, to the parents of the children starting reception this year, then. That's four at the least. Good going.

OP, if you want to get excited, you should see the computer usage agreement for five year olds at my children's school...
