Reading Week

My son will be starting UEA in Sept 2015. Can anyone tell me if students on the American Studies course get a reading week in the first term and if so what are the dates of this week ?

Most courses do have a reading week but the departments stagger them, your son will be part of the AMA department, I know that some schools in that department (including History of Art) have their reading week in November around the time of the half term school break.

His reading week won't be confirmed until timetables are produced usually in August, he can check for this on E-VIsion.

It is worth being aware that the university considers reading week a time when students should be still be available, field trips can take place in reading week, as can advisor/lecture meetings. So, the booking of holidays etc is discouraged - some of the learning on these trips etc can used in assignments or as part of questions in exams. It depends on your son's lecturers really, some are more lenient than others.
