USA vs. Uk where is better to study ?

Hello everybody , I am from eastern Europe and I've decided to study either in the England or maybe in the USA. But I want to know the main differences between these two countries when it comes to educational system. Firstly my question is that it's more easily to get into a university from the Uk than one from the USA ?
Secondly , in order to study in the Usa , it's more difficult to obtain finances to pay tuition and you have to be a straight A student to be admited there ?

Depends on the area of study. But generally USA has a lot to offer due to much more research money. Admission rate depends between the university in question, not much of the area. You'll also be competing with thousands who'd like to attend a certain school, many of which would want to obtain aid so I'd say it is difficult and again depends, the higher the qualification the better but you mustn't forget EC they matter alot. I don't know if this cleared your doubts since I'm no professional in this, but hey, all the best with your studies
The grade requirements for the UK are tougher than the US. UK has A levels and IBs which are tough, while American SATs are easy to get 100% on. Not sure about UK finances, check on the UCAS website. (UCAS is the central organising body for all UK universities, it will help you a lot.)

Also, consider that in the UK, you would study for 3 -4 years and only do one subject, while in the US you study for 4 years, but do all subjects together and only specialise in the last 2 years. So by going to the US, you will spend 1 more year in university and spend even more money.

In the US you would study more subjects but not in any great depth. If you intend to stay in the US then having a broad undergraduate degree is not a problem because most people who want professional careers attend graduate school where they can focus more narrowly on their chosen field (medicine, law, architecture, education, business etc). But if you want to return to Europe, an American broad-style degree may not be so useful. It is also worth remembering that American colleges expect students to fulfil basic general requirements unrelated to your chosen major. These normally include studying a language, theory of knowledge and foundation studies in the arts, sciences and maths.

Unless you have $200,000 you may as well forget about studying in the US. Even average public schools are very expensive. Despite what you may have heard, there are very few colleges which award full scholarships to international students and they are all extremely hard to get into. You will need straight As, a long list of extracurricular activities, proof of leadership potential and a lot of luck to get into the need-blind schools.

American colleges can offer more in terms of student activities. Colleges with huge endowments can afford to give their students fancy gyms, football stadiums, swimming pools, theatres, radio and newspaper printing facilities etc - but in terms of education, there is little difference. There is a lot of research money, but that makes little impact on undergraduate students.
Hey :smile:I’m an international business and marketing student in Glasgow, and was wondering if Icould just ask you all a quick question for my dissertation:When choosing to study at a UK University, what factors aremost important in your decision? Thanks!
