Hey I am applying to nursing next year and I was wondering when or how do I do a disclosed barring service? do I receive an application from the university or do i do it all myself?
Hi,

I've moved this to Nursing. You'll get more responses there.

The university will send you a form to fill in; you send it back to the university along with various ID documents; the university sends it off to DBS. DBS then sends the certificate to you, which you send on to the university. You normally have to pay for it yourself £44 for the enhanced check (which you will need for nursing), plus an extra £13 a year if you want the online update option.

You can't actually ask for a DBS check on yourself.

Hope that helps.
