You've phrased this as a question but you're basically advertising your university. Be honest!

Hi Plasaman, thank you for your comment. We are proud of our success in the recent Research Excellence Framework and are keen to hear people's opinions on how important these results are when making your decisions about which course to apply for. As part of REF 2014, the research of 154 universities was assessed. If you would like to have a look at the results of all institutions please click here.

Its easy to pick and choose individual areas where a university done well (and by this criteria, every university in the UK would be able to find something where they came out top), but in most aggregated league tables Swansea were not in the top 20, eg: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/download?ac=26853

They done well for their size and its worth pointing out that they outperformed several Russell Groups, but this thread is a bit unprofessional, and makes Swansea look bad imo.

I am not planning to work in academia or get a PhD so academic excellence is irrelevant to me and to most undergrads who don't want to get into academia or get a PhD. More important things for undergrads (or for me) are employability rates in your particular department, how much you like your modules and then secondary things like internships, placements, career services, societies, uni location, accommodation prices, etc.

This is exactly what they all do.
