Ratio helppp ls

Hi,
could someone help me on this level 2 further maths question? I really don't understand it.

Three quantities x , y and z are such that x:y=2:5 and y:z=3:4
express the following ratios in their simplest form
1) x:z
2)2y:5z
3)x+2y:y

If you like, how many y's make 1 x? How can you use that to find x:z?

As an alternative, do you know how to re-express ratios in terms of fractions? Can you say what x/y is, for example?
