Cases of groupthink/group polarization

Okay I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but if the Mods feel this doesn't belong here, kindly please remove it to the History forum instead. THX

So we're studying group psychology, mainly groupthink and group polarization, and we have to look for examples from historical cases AND current events. The historical ones are easy, but the current ones are not. I'm thinking about the war in Iraq things... I heard that the US soldiers attack refugee camps and emergency health camps, violating the military policy... would that be a group polarization? Becoming a lot more extreme bcoz you are with people w/ the same goal and the same thinking?

Please help..:frown: Any other ideas?
