Juncker has also called for the EU to have its own spy agency (anyone else thinking KGB) http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/574199/EU-Europe-spy-agency-spying-France-Germany-secret-agents-Jean-Claude-Juncker

So will the UK be forced to join when the other EU nations outvote us & how can the UK avoid it?

So long as the UK does not join it, i'm all for it. Perhaps they will actually act.

Since only 11 EU members have expressed support so far, it's more likely they'd go ahead on their own.
Good. Europe needs to grow a spine. Hopefully a collective army will inspire us to grow some balls.

Also then we can do deus vult crusades on ISIS and that'd be funny

A collective army will make things worse.
Becoming more and more like a USE
Good. We need more cooperation.

As long as they don't start trying to make all the British soldiers learn French when half the continent knows English already.

Not sure how I feel about this. If it furthers the interests of organised labour I think it would be an excellent move, however the cynic in me thinks this will just lead to a more repressive country where accountability is difficult.
How can anyone possibly think this is a good thing?

How can anyone possibly vote Labour?

Because they are socialist idiots.
Thoughts.

- It's brave to consider an EU army even as the whole rotten structure of the organization is facing collapse.

- Even if Germany and the Netherlands are for it, many other nations would flat out refuse to participate, the legality of the organization would also be an amazingly huge national and international headache.

- NATO, headed by the US, would come to blows with it, not militarily obviously, but there'd be a lot of political and diplomatic arguing. NATO happens to be the larger, older and most well established military bloc, primarily supported by the world's most powerful nation economically and militarily. Yeah no the EU army would face so many challenges as to be rendered pointless.

Collapse is a strong word, the assumption that all Europeans think like Brits is why the doommongers are still waiting for their collapse.

That's never stopped them before.

Presumably this would be part of NATO. Since the US complain that nobody else spends money on defense, they may welcome this unless they consider it a threat.

..

That said, i can't see it before 2020.
