I know you've already done, but just some tips that I'd like to share:

The above two posts, which are both entirely right, endorse the point that forces are vectors, so you can either use scale diagrams or trigonometry (which I would personally prefer).

C1 C2 and M1 knowledge is more that sufficient for vectors.

not even C2 really. The only maths module that this ties in with is M1, the actual maths involved is just simple trig and pythagoras from GCSE
