yeah true bt there are really good papers in the physics and math tutor site
those papers will come in handy and its really a good method of revising them!!

Think about what each coordinate should equal.

e.g. (pi)/10 should be at 0.

Therefore you can say that:

(a(pi)/10) + b = 0

Then do that for another coordinate and solve the two simultaneously.

It's not a perfect solution but I would do lots of C1 and C2 papers first to test my knowledge. I'd focus most on the recent UK and R papers and stop when I was consistently getting over 90%. I'd save the C12 for final practice of the combined topics.

A method was already described above

Alternatively
Two transformations have been performed on the sine curve
It has been stretched x 1/a and translated in x

Consider the difference between P and R, it should be 2pi for a complete sine curve but is only pi so what must a equal?
Now if sin(ax-b) = 0, ax -b must be 0, pi or 2pi
If 2x-b=0 x=pi/10 b=
2x-b=pi x=3pi/5 b=
2x-b=2pi ........

well i think u must be referring to the jan 2014 paper :-
ok so here goes...

To find the coordinates of A and B; look at the graph (the curve is cut by a line), therefore you can equate the 2 equations of the curve and the line.
(1) y=x2-2x-15
(2) y=2x-3

(1)=(2)----> x2-2x-15=2x-3
x2-4x-12=0
(x-6)(x+2)=0

x=6 or x=-2

Sub. x=-2 into (1) or (2):
y=2x-3
=2(-2)-3
=-7 A(-2,-7)<---------coordinates for A

sub. x=6 into (1)

y=2x-3
=2(6)-3
=9 B(6,9) <------------coordinates for B
