Feminism in the west is POINTLESS
In the west,feminism does not aim to, and will never, succeed in its goals. Ever asked a feminist what they'll do when they get what they want? (i have) It's funny watching their reaction because they pretty much never thought of that. It's because it's not about the goals. They thrive on the battle itself. That battle IS the goal and always was. Do you really think, that after all stated goals are accomplished, the feminists will fold their arms and say "that's it, we can party and we're not needed anymore". No. They'll just find new reasons to complain - ever more absurd reasons(female oppression in games, banning the word 'bossy') - exactly as is happening now.
Feminism perpetuates female inferiority and thus hinders women's empowerment. Being an autonomous adult, requires taking responsibility for one's actions. But feminists do everything to protect women from the consequences of their choices (disparity in STEM fields, lower earning etc.). If you cannot respect women to make their own choices and live with them, then you don't respect them as adults.

Maybe, if women are overly sexualised in video games then the 'battle' as you call it, isn't over?
It's not as simple and clear cut as women choose not to do STEM subjects. It's because we are conditioned and socialised to believe that women are stupid (for example, "women can't drive" or indeed the sexualisation of women in various forms of media, which leads us, the dominant males, to believe they are worth no more than their bodies), and this reflects on them. Why would you endeavour to study such subjects when not only are they already so male dominated, but also you would spend your entire time being put down by people like the OP who think that feminism and free will are apparently contradictory.
OP, you are thinking of first-wave, where women were encouraged to to burn the bra and not shave, to the point where they were shamed if they didn't partake. We're past that now. Welcome to pro-choice.

As a woman living in the west there are absolutely NO opportunities that men have that I cannot also achieve. I agree that women are definitely treated worse than men in some other countries in Asia and Africa, but modern feminists don't really have an influence there. Feminism was needed in the early 20th century and earlier but not any more.
I find feminism a bit patronising. I can be whoever I want to be without a movement doing it for me. I am responsible for my own actions and I realise that I actually have to do hard work to do what I need to do. I find it annoying when politicians say that they want a 50/50 gender split in their party because that is valuing some people over other people based on their gender. True equality is picking politicians regardless of their gender, not just as a political symbol within the party.
Also, although the word 'feminism' does technically mean wanting equality for everyone, it has negative connotations which is why I do not wish to identify with feminism. Feminism has become petty over time and are beginning to campaign for pointless things e.g. on Tumblr. People say that if you believe in equality you are a feminist, but they also say that you shouldn't label people. Seems a little hypocritical, doesn't it?
