AS Sociology 12 May

Is anybody doing the sociology paper on 12th May for Culture & Identity? I can't find anybody else doing it, everyone seems to be doing families!!!!! Can someone please help!?! Any predictions?

Hmm, for the 8 mark I think popular culture, roles, culture, consumer culture or values might come up as it hasn't appeared on the paper for awhile now! But I am still trying to learn them all, especially few that I struggle to remember. Not too sure about 52 mark one, maybe on quantitative or qualitative research method??

There can't be an 8 marker on popular culture or consumer culture as this is not a topic related to the PRM. 8 markers will most likely be on roles, multiculturalism, or masculinity

I didn't mean it to be in the PRM. On the G671 OCR paper an 8 mark question is asked. I only predicted what might come up for that question. Which could be popular culture, consumer culture etc

When you look at past papers, you see a pattern that shows that the 8, 16, & 24 markers only ever ask questions that relate to the topics in the PRM. Popular culture and consumer culture are not relevant to the PRM at all so there's almost a 100% we won't get an 8 marker or any other question on them. My teacher has advised us to prepare for 8 markers on multiculturalism, masculinity and roles, as they are topics that are relevant to the PRM

We were adviced by my teacher that questions which haven't appeared on the paper for a while now- may be asked again. Therefore I made those predictions for the 8 mark question.
We were never told that the 8,16 & 24 mark questions may have a link to the PRM.

Masculinity is the cultural expectations on how males are suposed to behave in society, which they learn as characteristics through gender role socialisation, in both primary and secondary socialisation. Some of these characteristics they may learn are to be strong, brave and non emotional.

And for the two examples I was told to write about hegemonic masculinity and Connel's 'new man'

Hi, could someone please give me an A*-B examplar answer of question 4 based on the 2015 pre-release for G671 OCR (It could be mixed methods, qualitative or quanitative). Thanks in advance.
