Help! EU-applicant

Hello,
this is my first time applying for the student finance, so I'm quite lost...
well, I completed every section and now in my "to-do list" I have to send my evidence. Does it mean that I have to send my ORIGINAL passport/national identity card?
and if so, and how long it takes them to give it back?

No, you don't have to send the original. If you prefer, you can send a copy but it must be certified, e.g. by a notary, lawyer, doctor, etc.
