Go to your local library and get A2 law books. There are alot. Also with Stat, list them and just say why you would or wouldn't use e.g. the purposive approach, and apply the relevant ones to your case study. Stat comes up every year, so it's a guarantee.

Thanks for thr reply, are there any other topics that comes up frequently?
Not really, it isn't as predictable as the LA1 exam. Statutory Interpretation always comes up though. You would be very reckless if you didn't revise it. If you need any further help, let me know.
How did you find the LA1 exam?

Hi, (sorry you’re the only person I could find who’s done the WJEC law exam) do you have any idea what had to go into the ‘characteristics of common law’ question, because i’m pretty sure I lost all 14 marks :frown:

Yeah, it's weird. It seems like there is only a handful of people that are doing WJEC. I didn't do that question, I looked at it and I knew that I would be writing the exact same thing for part a and b. I did juries and European Union.

I suppose if I were to answer it i would go on about the the sources of law, general customs and local customs and the history of common law, how there were problems with it which lead to equity being born.
Honestly, don't worry. I am sure you did well. Are you first year or second?

I’m in my first year.

I ended up talking about equitable remedies so I’m hoping that the grade boundaries aren’t too tough this year. The juries question was good - I’m pretty sure they asked the exact same question in a previous paper because I had done it before hahaa
You are bound to get marks, don't worry. It's pointless worrying until August. Are you doing LA2 then? You could bump up your marks with that paper.

Yeah, hopefully :colondollar: How have you been finding LA2? I find the topics easier to grasp than the topics in LA1, it’s usually referencing the data where I lose marks.

LA2 is alright. It's harder to predict though. Got any predictions? I recon delegated legislation, stat, human rights and hopefully judiciary. Also, here is a tip. When talking about the judiciary, mention that the lower judges can be fired for misconduct and then quote the recent example in the news where three judges got sacked for watching porn. This shows that they are inferior. It was this year, so it is very contemporary. That is also bound to get you good marks aswell.

Ahh, thank you! My teacher predicted that law reform would come up as it is especially relevant this year and that delegated legislation would come up in some form  I’m not sure if human rights will come up as it was in LA1, but sometimes they place it in both exam so you never know, hopefully they have it. I’m really hoping statutory interpretation comes up as it’s easier to use in the application questions.

I've been trying to understand statutory leg all day. I think i know what it is briefly, not sure about the aids to interpretation.
If find the LA1 alright, i did the jury and CL but didn't understand the characteristics so i talked about juries and appeals! I have no idea what towright down. I guess the paper next year will be better
Does anyone know what the Law Commission Act 2009 is about? We need to know it for Law Reform.

No, it's different. I found what it is about. It can be found here: http://www.lawmentor.co.uk/resources/essays/Describe-Law-Commission-influence-operating-Parliament-in-making-statute-law/

Depends what you need. Lawmentor is very good.
Also, with Statutory Interpretation, in the exam don't use all of them. Name them all and then just use what is relevant in the case study.
