state of mind

they say the teenager years are the most difficult what with unusual feelings and hormones and ur general 'state of mind'.

well if you went through something that you couldnt cope with emotionally in terms of crushes on people etc.. and it was generally horrific and unhealthy to your state of mind, and you somehow managed to get 'better' with time. and deal/cope with your feelings better- would this be my maturity developing as maturity is your state of mind?

it was the worst thing i have ever felt in my teenage years btw, it had a nerve wracking significant impact on me. and in a way i feel like ive grown as a person.

or would it simply just be me getting 'over it'.?

Suppose you've learnt from whatever has happened, I suppose that could also be called maturing, so yes.
