Re: Trinity HallThink about it this way. At least you don't need to go through the interview again as an international. I don't quite understand what you mean by school tradition though.(Original post by sugar skulls)
Hello.
I applied to trinity hall for natsci, and I just found out I got pooled T_T
Dut to school tradition I have lost pretty much all faith in myself!
In any case, best of luck!Last edited by Leprechaun; 04-01-2008 at 18:33. -
Re: Trinity HallOops, I inaccurately guessed from you flag and location.(Original post by sugar skulls)
Thanks!
International? Well I'm currently studying in the UK. ^_^
It's just that no one really gets into Cambridge from my school; I think one person has been offered in the past two years. But everyone gets pooled so.. *shrugs*
One person in two year is still a high number. I think I'm the first in my school to get into Cambridge.
I know this is easier said than done, but keep up your spirit. Many people on TSR were accepted after being pooled.

Re: Trinity Hall
Haha, tis okay. I'm changing my location back to england when I've flown back tonight.
You must be awesome!
I'm trying not to panic, but am losing hope fast! Needless to say, I absolutely love trinity hall, and their natsci course is perfect for me. I just forgot to mention that to the interviewers. -
Re: Trinity HallWell, it's all subjective, and it's difficult to pick out just one thing - it's a combination:(Original post by NoPurposeTortoise)
Cool. I tell you want...entice me : give me one thing about Tit Hall that makes it better than other colleges. If you don't mind.
Being next to the river and owning punts (springs to mind first, being summertime), having stunning grounds, being small and having a strong college spirit, being one of the friendliest colleges in Cambridge, having a great atmosphere, great central location, an amazing library overlooking the river, a brand new bar in the cellars (on its way anywho), great college scarf colours! (black and white), We've got it all..!
While none of those are particularly unique - it's the combination that makes it special. -
Re: Trinity Hall
For sure. I have to say, being on the river appeals to me greatly. And I would like to belong to a smaller college. At the moment I'm deliberating between Sidney and Trinity Hall, but by next week it could be completely different!
Whats the accomodation like, by the by? (although I gather most in most colleges its pretty similar) -
Re: Trinity HallInteresting choice - two people from my school went to Cambridge - one to sydney and tit hall, so I know a bit to make a comparison.(Original post by NoPurposeTortoise)

Accommodation for 1st years is all on our central site, and varies according to price. You pick a band, the more you pay, the more you get. The cheapest rooms are the most basic, but are still a good size compared to your typical "student room", and range up to the top price rooms which are frankly huge, and contain sofas, arm chairs, coffee tables, even dinning room tables! However, the location is great, and mostly you get the feeling of being in "traditional Cambridge", with a bit of heritage and quirkinesses - all the rooms are different.
At sidney, everyone pays the same in 1st year, and there's random allocation, so you could get a box room or a huge room, but you'd pay the same. However, Sidney is nice too, very cheap bar (though tit hall isn't that expensive). I think they'd both be good choices personally. -
Re: Trinity Hallyes you do. However, if you want to stay over the holidays, you can pay for additional accommodation - however you're not guaranteed your room.(Original post by zef99)
Do you have to clear out your room of all your stuff at the end of each term?
Only exception is if you get a 1st in your exams - then you get your room for free over the holidays.
I think the clearing out of rooms is fairly common across most colleges though. -
Re: Trinity Hallthat 1st thing is pretty cool. do you know in which colleges you don't have to clear out your stuff?(Original post by Jahmez23)
