Heh, and this is liberal Vermont that just elected a socialist Jew from New York as its Senator.

That's a bit beyond her tbh, I'd be impressed if she could find New York on a map.

lol; though technically I very much doubt there are any Jewish temples in Vermont. :p:

Hmm? For us Reform Jews the terms temple and synagogue are interchangable.

As long as her feet don't find it, I don't mind. :p:

Oh right, so is there even a difference between the two?

Well Reform synagogues have mixed seating, women rabbis etc. Whilst Orthodox do not.

Marvellous story dear Apollo. You should post here more with more stories.

Wow I'm tired.

And the temple would be the Orthodox?

And the temple would be the Orthodox?

Temple is the Reform name for a synagogue. Orthodox would just call it a synagogue.

Can I join? I'm Jewish, I promise! Here are my criteria, as per the first page:

Name: Zack
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, Amurrica
Jewish Affiliation (eg. Reform, Liberal etc): Conservative/Masorti
Ashkenazi or Sephardi: Sephardi by way of Vienna, Amserdam, and Spain.
Kosher?: No. I love Crabs too much.
Smoked salmon or chopped liver: Neither of the two. Matzah Ball Soup, Ruggelach, and Kugel for me.
Pesach or Shauvot: Ehh, don't really celebrate Shavuout... but the songs are pretty. I'd say Pesach; it just feels great.
Channukah or Purim: Chanukah
The Jewish Chronicle or Jewish Telegraph: Neither.
Keep Shabbat: Not at all.
Youth Group, if any: I don't like the ones around me (too closeminded).
Education: Nine Years of Solomon Schechter day school education, three years of continuing education at a night school, but right now I'm in public school doing IB.
Future Plans: None of them involve any major Jewish commitments. I want to study Arabic in college, and perhaps live in Egypt for a bit, though.

I mean, there are only 200,000 Jews in Maryland. I'm sure he knows all of them. :p:

Always worth a shot. I've narrowed it down by age and religiousity. Plus, Jewish geography comes into play in the oddest of situations.

The majority are Orthodox certainly here in the UK though I'm not sure the same can be said in the US. I am Orthodox yes.
