Hey everyone how did everyone think the exam when and what answers did you get?

I think it was an easy paper.. Though i found the probability questions at the bottom quite tough.. where they tell you about the T|S whatever. XD .. On the first question.. Did tou get the mode = 10 , median =11 , IQR =4 and mean = 12?
I wrote down most of my answers
Question 1 - mode 10 median 11 IQR =4 and mean = 11.8

for the probability question i got 0.36,o.16,0.032,0.12 and 0.192

I know what you mean about the probability question, i just tried to go about it as logically as possible

for the first 4 i got:
10, 11, 4, 11.8
0.106, 1, 0.470, 1.29
0.748, 0.195
0.36, 0.0272, 0.0540, 0.17, 0.163
and for the line y = 67.65 + 10.01*x
for the first we found the same, i seem to have screwed up the with probabilities :3, what about the rest?
For the second one i got 0.9696 not 0.47 but the rest are all the same
For probabilities i don't really know whether i got them right or not - what method did you use?
I remember i got the same y value as you
The only other question i wrote down was 6. 0.0565, 0.9433 AND MEAN = 66 Variance = 44.2

for the 0.47 i think it was with the calculator (it was an interval right?)for the probabilities i did the same as the paper of june 2014 (i think) for the first two. for the last part i did a table like the one they gave us

For the mean.. Since its 2 marks and its just putting the numbers on the calculator.. Dont we need to put 12 as the final answer to get 2 marks? XD since it will be 12 pssengers not 11.8 xD .. Not sure but i think that may be what they would be looking for for 2 marks?

Oh and btw.. Correct me if im wrong but ive forgotten.. For the last question on the normal distribution question.. It says find the standard deviation right? Not variance?
I do remember it saying variance as i had to look it up in the booklet but i could be wrong

for the mean i dont think they care about the s.f, so we should both the get the marks (1 for the working and 1 for the answer)
i am not sure but i think it was variance

Btw is there anyone like Arsey that posts the solutions in statistics?

The paper was alright, the probability question sucked, and I knew I should have rounded 11.8 passengers to 12! damn!

Shooot i did standard deviation.. Didnt square it .. Damn it

What working? I swear we just had to input it in the calculator:/

What was the mean for? XD Cant remember whether they asked us to work out the mean in the normal distribution?:/

Im not sure but it was a small number..:/

Sooo annoyed.. Just realised i looked up 0.995 instead of 0.99 .. So will ruin my whole answers.. Do you think i'd still get a mark for doing the right method?;'( or i'd lose all the 6 marks available? This is what i hate about this.. If you mess one up.. You mess up the whole thing.. Considering it was an easy paper the grade boundaries will be high.. So i think i just lost my chance of getting an A.. :frown:

I have a feeling it was binomial.
It was the question about payment types either credit cards, debit cards or cash.
Here are the answers I got:
1. mode=10, median=11, IQR=4, mean=11.8
2. normal probabilities: 0.106, 1, 0.470 and s.d=1.29
3. correlation: 0.748 and 0.195
4. probabilities: 0.36(only one newspaper on Friday), P(both)=0.16 so not mutually exclusive, 0.0272(all 4), 0.018(none of the 4), 0.163
5. regression line: 67.7+10.0x, takings of 570
6. binomial probabilities: 0.0565, 0.684, 0.786, 0.963, mean=66, var=44.2
7.normal probability for mean: 0.254, confidence interval: (0.649,1.07)
