Picking a 4th year physics project

I have to pick my 4th year physics project soon. I'm doing a standard MPhys Physics degree and would appreciate any advice about how to go about choosing. Obviously, looking for research papers based on the experiments I can choose from would be good but any extra tips would be great as I really cannot afford to get this decision wrong and pick a project I end up hating (I know I've done badly in my 3rd year so will have to make up the marks next year).
