It was a doable paper

But the hardest paper since forever
So grade boundaries low

Thought it was really easy tbh, i did make a slip here and there though.
I wouldn't call it really easy, but certainly a lot nicer than quite a few past papers I've looked at

I thought at least it was doable but i didn't have enough time to check answers

It was ok. Very different from the past exams but definitely doable.

they already asked that in a previous paper
I did bad on this paper, looking at about 45-50 marks :frown:
but I reckon the grade boundaries will be high, lots of people found it easy
They asked that on like a 2010/11 paper? Basically so long as you said it ONLY has carbon and hydrogen molecules, you got the mark.
The only question that I thought was a bad question was the one where it was something about writing the formula of a substance that has the same number of electrons as that N3- ion. From what I gathered it was CO2 but what is that question even testing? A bit ridiculous in my opinion as it wasn't testing anything and was basically a gift (albeit one mark) for those who can think outside the box.

Overall, the paper was pretty easy. They worded questions differently and formatted it slightly different, I assume to stop people memorising the exam, but it was still pretty good.

don't wrry, if youre aiming for an A, as long as you get a C in this paper, at least a B in the empa, you can still get an A if you absolutely smash unit 2

Yeah, we need like 130 UMS now!
Good luck!
We have a week to absolutely sweat out!
It is doable.
Was a difficult paper imo. As said above however, it was doable if you took attention to detail when reading questions, especially for the mass spec question. The last question however, was probably the most difficult question I've seen from any CHEM1 paper. The calculations were very doable however right towards the end the questions were written in a such a way where you will be rewarded for applying knowledge and thinking rather than learning past mark schemes.

I'd say it was slightly more difficult than June 2013 and more difficult than June 14 so in terms of boundaries I'd expect it to be below 56 for an A (not always keen on predicting boundaries however)
