Which fashion related degree is worth doing?

Perhaps this has been asked before, but getting some new answers may help other readers too.
After completing my Foundation course I've been doubting my decision of progressing onto a BA in Knitwear at LCF.

With so many creative degrees in fashion,I've been left thinking which is the one most worth doing. One that is really specific, like Knitwear or Print,
or something like Fashion Design where they teach a bit of everything, leaving you with more skills.

I've been looking at statistics & job sites & there tend to be many jobs requiring specialists instead of fashion designers who seem to be more independent with their own companies etc...

Or is one better off doing a Visual Merchandising,Fashion Marketing & similar degrees?

It would be amazing to get any answers on this, from someone more experienced or informed on this topic.

Thank you in advance

I know a few people who have done general Fashion Design degrees, where you do different types of briefs then you can specialise in one particular area for your final year. These courses are usually 4 year sandwich courses, so you have a year in industry placement. My friend did a placement year in London, and when she finished the course they invited her back down to work for them full time.

But if you know what you would like to specialise in then I don't see why you should do the degree you have chosen?

I've heard good things about fashion promotion/communication courses but if you want to do design then stick with it! Those types of courses are more about marketing, branding, graphic design and styling rather than designing.
