I joined and then I left 'cause I heard St Andrews might reject me just for applying before the 15 of October. Better pretend I got rejected lol... paranoia -

Re: The Lady Margaret Hall Thread
Mature student thinking about LMH for Physics (or I might apply to a mature college at Cambridge). Awesome location, and a prof in an interesting area. Lots of questions. Going to have a look around in September, unfortunately I missed it in June.
How popular/oversubscribed is LMH for Physics?
Hell's Corridoor - the wiki page talks about this being very noisy? Anyone there have an opinion?
People talk about "communal showers" in WW, what is the (worst/average) ratio of rooms to showers roughly? (And toilets?) And I assume these are individual cubicles and not literally communal showers? At the cam summer school this wasn't a problem because despite a 6:1 ratio, everyone else only showered in the evening, and I showered in the morning.
If a room has a sink, is the water drinkable? That is, does it have a "Not drinking water" warning, like the sinks in Wolfson at Cambridge?
Also the page talks about OWL maybe not being available in a few places - is this just the wifi? I assume there is wired internet in every room? And is policy on p2p blocking a college level or uni level issue? I have seen some universities boast that there are no restrictions, although given the legal problems this seems doubtful...
Sorry for long message, but it seemed quiet, perfect excuse!
Was LMH your first choice?
