could I have been sexually abused?

I am a virgin, at least I think I am. Due to some health problems my doctor found an object in my vagina and asked if I had ever put anything inside me or if I have ever been abused. But I've never put anything in myself or touched myself there. But no one else has either. Is it possible to not remember if some did put something inside me? Why would I forget? How else could it have gotten in me? I have a pretty good memory (can remember events from when I was 3) so I am 99.9% sure I didn't put anything inside me.
Sorry for so many questions I'm just really confused?
