PPM questions??

Okay so I never understand questions that are to do with parts per million. Converting or working out etc I dont remember learning it, I just know that it comes up at least once in every paper and is normally worth like one mark. Can someone explain to me or send me a link about this topic?

Heres an example that I just came across;

Calculate the concentration of ozone in the sample of air in units of parts per million (ppm) by volume.

I have the volume of ozone, measured in m^3, present in the original sample of air which is 4.743x10-6

Thanks!
