Why do guys always bring up my race?

This is mainly white/Asian guys.

Anytime I talk to one they mention my 'ebony' skin, 'big lips', 'dark skin', how I'm a 'black goddess'... and some other stuff. They always bring up my race and how I'm a black girl blah blah blah. Its like they have a fetish.

Its so annoying? Why do some people feel the need to do this.

Because they cannot control themselves around you, you are clearly very appealing. If you dislike the attention just tell them to back off :smile:x

Because it's the most identifiable thing about you and defines your appearance, culture and possibly your upbringing too. But personally I always find that black people can't stop harping on about their race.
Clearly you must be a black goddess!

Or....

You are black and they are paying you a compliment

and what... black guys don't bring up your race?

your black. people are gonna talk about that.

non black people are going to see you as an exotic sexual fetish.

they will want to "try a black girl"

ebony? ok mr pornhub
black goddess? are you trying to sound like an india arie song?
big lips? thats offensive. you could atleast say full lips.
dark skin? well duh it goes with being black.

the moral of the story is. only date black men.

you might wanna get over this soon cuz its gonna keep happening throughout your life.

peoples race is brought up all the time.
even white people.
i mean the uk's 87% white and i can't stop hearing about white privilege, striaght white men, white sis males.

for most of my childhood i've been the only white guy in a circle of black peers.

race was brought up a lot. tbh though. when i saw white people and black people mixing. i saw race mentioned less by the white people. even when i was the only white guy there race was brought up alot towards other black people my mates calling eachother blick as an insult.

i wonder what wooly background your from to get bothered by this.

I just don't see why they bring it up when I don't mention their whiteness. I just find it odd since white people always say they don't see race and race is not important.

I am slightly bothered as I don't get why they bring up my skin colour when white people always say they don't notice race and race is not important. Its funny and hypocrital.

Yeah I agree it is a fetish.

White peoples race is brought up differently to blacks tbh. I don't like being sexualised. These guys have an idea of what a black girl is like and its wrong.

None of my white girl friends get called 'white goddess' or stuff like that... so yeah, I'm just curious why this happens to me.

Like Mick said it isn't going away unless you move to Africa/Caribbean. You should just embrace it and take it as a compliment. At least they aren't calling you something else.

At the first sentence: really? Why? That's racist.

To all the rest, well how did you feel being the only white guy? And in a predominately white country the only white guy? Ok...but surely someone must've thought you were soft because you're white, you know that "white men can't jump" or "can't dance" or "can't fight" stereotype and tbh I don't know how you even survived it without either you completely conforming to "acting black" like most likely going to dancehall parties or ****ing black women all the time or who knows resorting to crime. Or those black people were already conformed to being ashamed of being black and gladly accepted you in though you're white. That could be the case since they're making fun of dark skin.

Anyway OP is clearly just uncomfortable with the attention like Idk it could've been an attempt to start a huge debate fiasco. But if it's a serious thing they're uncomfortable with you're probably telling her to brush it off because they're all sexual things and everyone should be ok with sexual attention, right? Well some ppl aren't. We don't know how old OP is. Maybe they're 14, Idk. Actually I don't really even care. I was just put off about Mick.w saying "black people should only date black people." If that's ok to say...then put a bucket over my head because I clearly am out of the loop.

It's clearly because they are racists.

Is that what you wanted to hear?

Because you probably live in a white majority country. If a white person went anywhere in Africa, their race would be brought up constantly no doubt.
Because these guys are idiots. The whole 'exotic' thing is pretty offensive. Still putting otherness on you but they don't see it as offensive because they've deemed your otherness to be aesthetically pleasing. Not all guys are like this promise.

I hate when people say they don't see race. Idiotic
Guys in general can be awkward and weird, especially when they are confronted with something unfamiliar.

I bet most of the comments to you OP have been said online, right? Yeah, they tend to be more open with their weirdness online.

Just try to find someone who wants to be with you for you, not because they find your race novelty.

A beautiful girl is a beautiful girl regardless of race.

I'm guessing they bring it up because they think your skin is particularly beautiful. Just like someone who thinks your smile is beautiful might comment on it.

Personally most skin colours don't really speak to me, but occasionally I go "wow" inside my head when I see someone with really dark skin (think the blackest black, maybe with a touch of purple) - it can be absolutely stunning, and I totally get the "black goddess" comment. Maybe because we are so used to 0815 Hollywood beauties, who are mostly light-skinned and all have the same faces, a beautiful black woman can really stand out because of her skin. I wouldn't comment on it unless I knew the person, but unless it's said in a sleazy kind of way it's just a compliment, embrace it.

I only asked you if you were running the London marathon this year.

It's what is known as a microaggression, those small everyday acts and subtle indignities through which the privileged, often without knowing it, make the marginalized feel, well, marginalized.

The trouble is not that blacks see racism in everything but that most whites see racism in nothing

When they are in the company of other whites, they relax, smile and act normal. When a black person enters, the mood changes, however slight but it does change.

That is complete f*cking BS and you know it.

You can't make a single innocent comment today without the fear of being labeled a racist sexist homophobe.

Every little thing you say is judged as a personal attack against one group or another.

Sometimes you just have to relax, quit looking for hidden messages and 'microagression' bullsh*t in people's words and learn to take a joke.

You're saying it like it's a bad thing. Guys find you attractive *Gasp! Shock horror* If you don't like it then go bout your business and ignore them.

well black women are sexualised. more so than most women other women. thanks to like america n the whole encouragement of of pimps n hoes culture.

people don't talk about white people in the same way cause it sounds like aryan supremacy. like when black people say "black power" its not quite the same as when white people say "white power"

pretty much most black music is to do with sex. n its all about cheating and eating the booty like groceries.

their trying to flatter you in a low class way.

NEWS FLASH. people are full of s***

people are liars. they just say what they say to get social brownie points.
GAY MARRIAGE! (YAY!)
ISLAMIPHOBIA! (BOOO!)
SEXUAL PROMISCUITY FOR WOMEN! (YAY!)
SINGLE MOTHERS! (YAY!)

people lie straight to your face saying they don't see race like theyve ascended to a higher level of consciousness. its BS.

as a human being you judge EVERYTHING. thats how you survive.
is that person dangerous?
is that person powerful?
is that person good to be friends with?
is that person sexually fertile?
its a basic survival need and humans make judgements on a much more complex level than the above mentioned things. and anyone who says they don't is denying that their human.

people are gonna judge you. thats life. you can't change that.

but why do you think they bring up your skin colour?
why do you think they say things things to you?
do you think they speak to you like that because your special or do you think they speak like that to all black girls?
I think when a guy is around a sexy woman his brain shorts out
