Nightclubs in Manchester??

Just wondering how strict clubs in Manchester are regarding ID?? Me and some friends are going down next weekend and wanted to go out, using our friends IDs which look reasonably like us. We are all actually 17. They tend to work fine in our city (nottingham) as we go quite early and we're a group of girls. None of us look particularity young. All of the IDs are in date. We plan on booking tickets to see some DJs (at The Ritz and South). Wondering if anyone knew if these clubs were particularly strict or anything?
Please save the 'that's illegal', 'you can go to jail' etc. Don't waste your time.
