Ahhhhh scared that I haven't made my firm... would be seriously embarrassing:colonhash:

Should be fine if you dip a grade but no more than that.
First thing in the morning I'm gonna check my Track. No point in getting results first because they CAN take you even if you drop a grade.

But man, 6 weeks is still too far away.

I want to do this but I get my results by email at 6am and the chances of me being able to resist checking for 2 hours are minimal :frown:

Luckily my college is archaic and only gives us grades from around 9am, so I have no choice! As long as I make my firm, I couldn't care less if I drop a grade!

Any idea when they typically finish marking?

Original post by The Clockwork Apple
You think so? I think they like making us wait. Like honestly, you can't take 2-3 months to mark papers, especially in subjects such as maths in which after 5-6 marked papers you basically know the answers off by heart.

They're pretty much marked within a fortnight of the exam.

Then marks are debated, like potential alternate answers and stuff.

And then all finalised and checked over to ensure marking is fair all around.

Then marks analysed, grade boundaries made, and then a few weeks later we all cry

I ordered an AS paper back last year and the examiner / moderator signed and dated the paper 24 06 2014 and the exam was actually on May 20th that year, so in my case there was roughly 1 month between completion of the paper and marking. AQA German btw

Check UCAS track first?

Never thought of doing that first, when does it open typically?

How are you feeling about results day?
Good and bad - feels like you never know what might happen even if you think your exams went well enough! What makes it worse is that I won't be here; I'll be in Peru trekking towards Machu Picchu.
Which subjects do you study?
A levels in Psychology, English Literature, Spanish and Art
What grades are you hoping to get?
A*A*AA
Are you in year 12 or 13?
Year 13
To which uni are you hoping to go?
University of Bath
To study which subject?
Psychology
How did your exams go?
Pretty well - I didn't leave any exams feeling completely heartbroken. Just a bit concerned about English Lit as the paper (AQA A) kind of threw me. Felt like if one of the texts we got wasn't as inaccessible as I considered it to be I could've gotten an A* in Lit but now I'm just begging I scrape an A!

It might be kind of another test? For example if we can't wait without having a mental breakdown we aren't fit for uni?

Naps help. I had a PE exam and the next day i had my c3 exam, both in the morning. PE is A LOT of work, so i was up til 4am revising and i immediately started c3 after the exam, had an hour nap at like 6pm and worked til 4am again. It's gruelling but only temporary and i slept a lot on the following saturday lol

So nerve wracking. So we essentially are wasting a month and this could all be over sooner.

This last month is going to kill me.
Hiya

I am in Year 11 and hosing my options for Alevel and need YOUR advice

I have decided on my subjects but need a fourth. I am stumped between Maths and IT.

Should I go for the subject I will enjoy it the subject I will do better in?

IT I am confident in (GCSE grade A*) but don't enjoy

What do you think I should do?

Ps I want to go t uni so I need good grades for my course AAA
