English storywriting plagiarism question

Hello,

Basically I am an English tutor. Most of my students struggle with writing stories so I tell them to come up with a story beforehand and mould it to the title given

They are both higher tier students on the WJEC board

The story title was something about a medal?

I'd told them a basic plotline to have a man on a ski trip with the following events

Man needs new boots

sees billboard advertising comp for new boots

3 other racers, describe one in great detail

starts winning race, crashes into tree

gets up and is ok,

sees another crashed racer with wolf biting his leg

saves the guy

doesent win race but gets reward for saving the guy

Their abilities of writing are on different levels, different schools but same exam board, one has practiced writing this story at home whilst the other one literally just heard the plot from me as a last minute idea for what to write about in a story

I also told my students to start the story like
