Welcome to the University of Durham forum: where prospective and current students can discuss everything from the differences between colleges to the nightlife, an abundance of Rahs to the Stockton campus.

I asked a perfectly reasonable question, no need to jump on me like that.
Now i know the answer; there is no answer.
Durham's Combined courses are pretty oversubscribed because they're not offered at too many other unis. It usually takes a while to go through them.
I cracked a joke and then told you the real answer. That's hardly jumping on you. We get asked the same question about a million times; answering with a straight face gets boring.

mmmokay!
Oh - my personal statement was kind of geared towards theology and philosophy (not combined arts)... is this normal for people doing combined arts?
... I know from previous posts that AES is not a fantastic service or anything, but two weeks after receiving my application I kinda hoped it would of been sent to the department by now
I've also just logged in for the first time and seen that it's working, and it says:
Your application has been received by the University
Your application has not yet been received by the Department
I only sent my app 9 days ago so I'm happy that AES is wokring and that I know they've received my application
The only thing concerning me slightly is that the 'register email' thing is saying I have no email address currently registered. Does that mean specifically for the AES and to hear Durham news or something, because I put my email address into UCAS, and I know that Durham have my email address as they sent me an acknowledgement and AES details by email...? Do I need to register my email within the AES again to receive any correspondence from Durham?
The other poster was right, just ignore it. It's pretty much useless. I checked it after UCAS told me I'd got on the course and it took days to update.
Re: The big thread of questions about Track status
Hey guys
My AES now says: Your application has been received by a College
A decision has not yet been made. Please visit the UCAS website for further details
and all the 'your application has been received by the university/department' lines have disappeared. What does this mean? I know that it doesn't mean I have an offer as it says 'a decision has not yet been made', but if it's been forwarded to a college does that mean that the department has decided?
Thanks a lot, and sorry for the double post. I wasn't sure where would be best to ask this xxx

This was about 3, 4 hours after getting the email from them talking about AES.... I've heard nothing from UCAS either.
Tantamount to saying that I haven't got in? Or is AES really that unreliable?
Hmmm.... What does it say under the "college" section?
It's impossible to say at this stage whether you've got an offer without knowing whether your application went to a college or not I'm afraid. You'll just have to wait for UCAS to update!

I don't have a "college" section... Well, I can't see one anyway.

What I assume Tallulah means is the "links" section, where the only college link will either be to the college you applied to or the one your application was sent to if your first college said no.
Though it seems very early for offers to be starting to come through already I suppose it's possible, and I don't remember anyone's AES being that unreliable last year, normally it is slower than anything else . The only thing you can do is wait for UCAS to change really.

Ok I have one offer as yet, so they are beginning to filter through...
In any sense, the college that comes up is the one I applied to, so i'm going to take that as a good sign.

That means you're in, I think. Once you get through to the college stage they just have to find somehwere for you to go. If the department apporves u you're guranteed a place (barring admin mixups)
Re: The big thread of questions about Track status
I've started a thread about this already, but nobody has answered me yet so I'll try here :p Does anyone know how long a college will take to make it's decision after receiving the application from the department?
