Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodation
Cryfield - a kitchen normally abt 10 ppl, bathroom normally 12-ish. Sounds like a lot, but there are LOTS OF BATHROOMS AND TOILETS, i.e. about 8 actual toilets and 6 showers/baths on each floor, meaning technically ur sharing toilets and bathrooms between abt 3-4 ppl.
Kitchens are literally MASSIVE, and you never feel squashed (unless ppl from other places use your kitchen!!) -
Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodation
My floor in rootes has 2 toilets, 2 showers and 1 bathroom (which nobody ever uses - except for the full length mirror which is quality!).
There are 12 of us on our floor - so that's 6 to a toilet. We have the warden on our floor too though... on some floors there are more people to a toilet. It's never a problem though cuz everyone gets up at different times etc! -
Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodation
Here's something those slags in accomodation don't tell you: TV's dont work in Arthur Vick rooms, you need to connect them in your kitchen through this external aerial socket or summit like that. We all brought TV's like mugs in the first term and were left with terrestrial egg on our faces. I'm pretty sure that goes for all accomodations but I haven't really asked around.
Is that good enough for the guide Mr aza484?!?! -
Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodation
I'm in Jack Martin and my tv didn't work in my room either
A few people get some reception along my corridor (I think they have very good indoor aerials), but the picture quality isn't very good at all. I don't really miss my tv much though, we have one in the kitchen which is fine
Plus at least you don't have to pay as much for a tv license!

Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodationBham, coops hit the mark, pritty much nower can get a signal on an internal aerial, wev got a TV in our kitchen connected to the roof aerial which picks up everything but the mux wiv the hits and ftn on, however ive barely watched it, too many other things to do.(Original post by minicoopa)

Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodationYeah, we have a TV, it's only used for multiplayer games (PES, but I don't play as I'm crap and don't like football!) but not actually for TV other than Neighbours!(Original post by aza484)
Its all about being sociable really. The only thing I know of that people watch at uni is Neighbours, for some reason that is way beyond me. -
Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodation
I keep myself busy enough to not even notice the lack of TV, even though when Im at home I could quite happily sit infront of it all day. There's always work to be done, and for me the rest of the time is divided between ultimate frisbee, being a music critic for the Boar (the student newspaper), getting very drunk and playing my guitars.
who needs TV?! -
Re: The Student Guide to on-campus accomodation
Plus... you can get Channel 4 for free online, and apparently it's gonna be the same for ITV by this March I think. You can't get some American/foreign programmes though. I only watch the news to be honest, a few of times a week maybe... have it on if I'm doing a bit of work in the evening or whatever.
take a joke sweety
