I'm so worried about this exam! Does anyone know if it is possible to get an A/A* if I do badly on this paper but have already done well on the other 2 and coursework?

yes even if you get a D in this paper and an A* in everything else u will get ab A overall

Thanks! I don't know why but I'm just awful with source based questions.

Just because the Beverage report came up, doesn't mean the NHS won't. That's like saying that the B.O.B won't come up because D-Day did. They are 2 separate topics.

That's not true. The B.O.B is separate from D-Day, but the Beveridge report led to the NHS and NHS was sort of in last years paper so I don't think it will come up, but I am not 100% certain.
anyone have a structure sheet?

for question 5, say the question was like "Source X suggests..........................How far do you agree with this interpretation? Use your own knowledge, sources X,Y and Z and any other you find useful to the answer.

Would you structure it like:

Para 1 - Introduction - context and argument

Para 2 - Source X - N.O.P and analysis & knowledge. Then a brief evaluation of the source & conclusion that links back to the question.

Para 3 - Source Y " " "

Para 4 - Source Z " " "

Para 5 - Detailed conclusion where you firmly state whether or not you agree or disagree with the source.

For question 5 you HAVE to use ALL the sources AND your own knowledge.
The way to answer it is:

Intro:
Group the sources into two. Those that agree with the statement and those that disagree. There is usually 3 each.

Para 1:
Look at the sources that agree and comment on their content. And uses your own knowledge.

Para 2:
Continue to study the source that agree. This time however look at their usefulness (assess how much you trust the sources you have written about in p1). Comment on their reliability.

Para 3:
Look at the sources that disagree and do the same as para 1

Para 4:
Same as para 2 but with the sources that disagree

Conclusion:
State which source is the most useful and ANSWER THE QUESTION.

What I do before I get to this question is that I read the question and as I am answering the previous questions which require the sources I put down A or D (agree or disagree) to group the sources.

also, does anyone know how to structure question 3?

This is a cause question
For this question do 2 paragraphs so you need to talk about 2 causes
Use the source and your own knowledge for both paragraphs.
Please can someone go through the question types and how to answer them?!
This is how we answer each question:

I think Jarrow Crusade will come up, as it is a major topic that has not appeared before. B.O.B is also v.likely...but I would go over everything as no one thought the churches and youth would come up for Germany and Edexcel tricked us and put it in, so you never know.

Good luck to everyone though, last exam so lets smash it!!

Jarrow Crusade has come up before though, in January 2011.

Same, really they are different things, only the Beveridge Report arguably led to its introduction.

don't you evaluate the main source first? and give your personal viewpoint as to whether or not you agree or disagree on it? (thanks btw  )

There is no main source. The question will ask you to look at all the sources.

not it doesn't. If you have a look at the sample paper question 5 is:

"Source F suggests that civilian morale was badly affected by the Blitz. How far do you agree with this interpretation? Use your own knowledge, Sources D, Eand F and any other sources you find helpful to explain your answer."

Therefore you need to evaluate source F first.
