small hole in tooth no pain do I need a filling?

I will 29 years old in july I have noticed a small hole in a molar tooth, I currently havd no symtoms or pain, I was wondering whether I need to have a filling, the thing is that I dont visit a dentist every six months, but I would like some advice because if there is no hurting is there any point to a filling ?
Some advice anyone ?
No, of course not. You should first wait until the damage to your tooth is causing you excruciating pain, and then get a filling.
