Should I got to my Great Uncle's funeral?

I don't usually do funerals. Only my nan and Grandad's. Because they were very close to me.

However, my Great Uncle, although I was close to as a kid, I kind of grew apart from, and hadn't seen him for a number of years until he passed away today.

I know my mum will request that I attend the funeral, but I am not going to go.

I will send some flowers or a wreath instead.

Am I being nasty or disrespectful, or should people just respect my wishes?

Why do you make the most asinine threads? You know what I don't give a **** what you do. So go or don't go just keep me out of it.

If I was in your position I would go out of courtesy as he's still my family. You don't have to showboat either just put on a brief solemn display.
