PGCE with a 2:2??

Haven't received my degree classification yet but looks like I'm on 2:1/ 2:2 boarder and have passed both qts test, My uni, university of wolverhampton, wants a 2:1 to get onto a pgce, does anyone know how strict they are and if I stand a chance of getting on with a 2:2?

thanksss
Depends on the place I applied for 4 years for PGCE at Hertfordshire with a 2:2 from them and they have rejected me every year. Applied for a schools direct place this year and they accepted me. Places are so hard to get on in general!

I have 2:2 from years ago and accepted onto a PGCE in September. I've interviewed a school direct place. So it's possible to do PGCE with 2:2, depending on the provider/ subject really. It's worth contacting your uni if 2:1 is condition.set in the condition of your offer.

sheffield hallam want 2:1 but they accepted me and I had a 2:2 It does state they will consider a 2:2 depending on your experience; I got an interview and smashed it.
I have a 2:2 and have been excepted for PGCE in September at wolves, so I doubt it will be much of an issue

It's likely to depend on your subject specialism and what you can offer.

For an oversubscribed subject like History, I'd say your chances are fairly low. For something like Physics, Maths or MFL you'd have a good chance as teachers in these subjects are in high demand.

If it's for Primary, I don't really know how it works, although there has been a rise in the primary school aged population so demand for teachers is growing.

But it will largely depend on how successfully the course is filling its allocation- if they're getting loads of good applicants with 1sts and 2:1s, then I'm afraid they are likely to use that as an easy selection criteria to apply and just reject those with lower degree classifications outright. Whereas if they're struggling to fill places, they'll consider your application.
