What is the best route to take to become a Primary School Teacher?

Hi,
I am 17 and have just completed my AS Levels (History, Psychology, French and PE) and will be moving on to A2 levels in September. I am looking at becoming a Primary School Teacher, and was wondering if anybody could offer advice re. the best route into teaching. I could do a Primary Education degree with QTS but my worry is that I would be putting all of my 'eggs in one basket', if you know what I mean? Would it be best to do an undergraduate degree for three years and then move on to a PGCE for Primary teaching? Or do a combined honours degree, for example education with psychology? Also could anybody recommend a university with a good education course, or give me an insight into teaching in a Primary School?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Undergrad then PGCE

A primary ed degree consists of talking about "teaching the little kiddies basic maths etc etc.." i.e all common sense stuff you can work out when you do your PGCE.

What ever you do undergrad wise you NEED a 2:1 you won't get on a PGCE unless you're stupidly lucky without one.
