Worth doing the same Msc course as my Bsc course?

About to graduate from I.T. and looks like I'm finishing with a strong 2.2. Though I was always going to go into post grad study anyway so at this point I'm wondering if it's worth doing IT again at Msc (most Unis prefer non-IT gradates for their IT courses for some reason) or should I make the jump to business studies or an unaccredited MBA (lots of scholarships going around so this is temping)? I'm still not really sure what field I want to go into yet so thought a business related Msc will give me some focus here. Either way I'm definitely doing a Msc come September. Any advice welcome please and thanks.
I've always used postgraduate study as a means of broadening my options. For what they cost that's the sort of added value I'm looking for really.

If you love your subject and that's the one thing you live and breath then I can dee why further study in it could be of value but with a BSc in it already to your name I think there's a lot to be said for broadening your options with a different subject.

It's funny how a masters can either be used to fine tune and specialise in what you've already done or used as a chance to move on to something totally different. I've always done the latter.
On the business side of things, a good MSc Management course is much better than an unaccredited MBA. You could go for a decent MBA once you've got 3+ years experience.

An unaccredited MBA that accepts students directly out of undergrad is likely to be a complete waste of time, even if you get a full ride fees and accommodation scholarship.

If a masters in a subject prefers non-graduates, that is usually a sign that the masters is basically a concentrated form of undergrad material and not further/more in depth like a more typical masters would be..so also sounds like it wouldn't be worth your while!

So yeah I'd think a business or management related MSc would probably be your best bet. Many of them are quite generalist too so would probably benefit you given your current position of still being quite open about what you want to do (doesn't that sound better than being "unsure" about what you want to do? )

Ok thanks guys, I think the MBA is not the route for me then especially as I have no work experience. Probably just going to do I.T. again at MSc and hone my skills in that field.

Business or management MSc courses don't require work experience, you could consider them rather than force yourself down the IT route as it doesn't sound like that's something you're passionate about, tbh. Good luck whatever you end up doing.

Yeah possibly. I just feel like I am not really passionate about any subject but I've always had the most interest in technology. I just don't like the deep technical topics, and after doing some IT strategy based modules in my final year the business side of IT is pulling my interest. At this point I can either do a IT Msc or business management as I'm confident both will benefit me but the business route will give me a wider choice in my career options as I suppose, possible less IT related.
